Chieti is a municipality of 48,512 inhabitants, capital of the province of the same name in Abruzzo.

The hill of Chieti is located in the central-eastern part of Abruzzo, reaches a maximum elevation of 348 meters above sea level.

The city enjoys a favorable geographical position, both because it is close to the Adriatic coast and the mountainous masses of Majella and Gran Sasso, and because it is connected to the nearby transport networks of the Adriatic side, such as the A14 motorway and the Adriatic railway.

The city is divided into two main centers, Chieti alta and Chieti Scalo.

Chieti alta is the hilly nucleus of the city and includes the historic center which, located on the flat top of the hill, hosts numerous remains and buildings in various styles that tell of the many historical phases experienced by the capital of Chieti.

 The Chieti Scalo area in particular hosts numerous university students from the campus of the "Gabriele d'Annunzio" University
