Property Description

This fantastic house is situated in the outskirt of Casalanguida, Chieti province of Abruzzo, at just five minutes' drive from the village.

The house is completely made of stone, it has been completely restored in 2010. The foundations were micropiled and the structure reinforced, the roof was totally replaced too. Internally all floors have been replaced, the house avails of a new electric system, new heating system and new plumbing.

There are three brand new bathrooms with elegant sanitary wears and first-class ceramic tiles, all internal doors and facing are oak, the windows are double glaze. The kitchen and the appliances are new. The house has been completely re-plastered, the ceilings of some rooms have been cleared up to expose beautiful cotto breaks and emphasize the beautiful high vaults.

Outside, there has been extensive drainage put in around the house with soak-away for possible excess of water. The flat area at the side of the house has been reinforced with stone filled gabion baskets buried, to allow a pool to be installed. The external stones have been all sandblasted and cleaned to achieve a majestic look for the facades.

In the overall, the house has been restored to modern standards keeping intact the character and the antique features of the building.

Internally the house is composed by three floors. On the first floor, where the main entrance is situated, we find an impressive entryway with vaulted ceilings and exposed bricks. Next to the entrance we find a living room of approximately 25 sqm, with vaulted ceilings and exposed bricks. This room is large and bright with two windows facing the countryside and the surrounding hills; This room also enjoys a working fireplace.

On this first floor we also find a bedroom and a large bathroom with bath tub, beautiful sanitary wares and ceiling with the exposed bricks.

On the lower floor the house avails of a fantastic open space of approximately 100 sqm, with two large glass doors leading directly on the back garden. This large open space features original arches and vaults, part of the architecture of the house. The arches and the vaults separate the large open space creating three different areas. On one side we find a modern design kitchen, an unusual but surprisingly excellent match with the exposed stone on the walls and the vaults of the ceiling. Opposite to the kitchen we find the dining area with a cozy fireplace and plenty of natural light coming from the back garden. The dining room extends to the TV area with a large corner sofa and exposed stone on the walls, a cozy corner that gives the impression to be in a luxury cave. The entire open space is a masterpiece of modern and traditional design. This floor also avails of a bathroom with shower facilities.

On the upper floor the house avails of a large master bedroom of 20 sqm with two windows, a large guest room of 20 sqm with a sofa bed, a twin bedroom and a beautiful bathroom with black and white tiles. The corridor of this floor enjoys a balcony with beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

The staircase that links the three floors has Majella stone steeps and arch ceilings.

Outside the house avails of 2.300 sqm of land, with possibility to build a small swimming pool, and a garage / shed completely made of stone.
